The Mengão, without Jorginho, would play against a very disciplined and hardworking Santa Cruz team - the "Tricolor Pernambucano" had its golden age in the 1970s, when "Santinha" was 4th place in the 1975 Brazilian National First Division and featured players like Givanildo Oliveira (who played for the Seleção), Ramón, top goalscorer of the 1973 Brazilian National First Divison and, later in that decade, Nunes.
