Footballia, Thanks very much and compliments on providing this memorable gem of a match. Game had absolutely everything-however Schumacher's tackle on Battiston leaves a sour taste-resulting in Battiston's life being put in danger!
Schumacher acted dirty the whole game and his bad intentions toward the french were obvious , he should have been sent off and sent to the jail immediately , he was such a disgrace !
This match is a real World Cup classic. Hard fought game with a high speed and a lot of chances. There was also a big shocker and an awesome and dramatic extra time. My Man of the Match is Littbarski who did a great job on the wing. 9,5/10
Quand Schumacher fait sauter le citron du petit Battiston, bin sûra, on é outré, a-con ! nampêche, par la même occasian a-con, il fait aussi sauter la pastille de l'EDF, qui finira par jouer pour gagner et plus pour faire joue-joue à la ba-balle, comme une enfant. On a joué à 9, normal qu'on perde, tchulé, và ! Rocheteau et Six ne touchent pas un seul ballon du match. C'est hallucinant ce que ces 2 mecs étaient mauvais et en plus sur ce match, très trouillards. Heureusement que le reste de la troupe était d'un niveau énorme, pour tenir tête aux Prussiens sur-puissants et sur-vitaminés, bien que pas terribles niveau football. Mes meilleurs joueurs sur ce match côté bleu : Janvion (énorme!), Trésor, Bossis, Amoros, Giresse; après Tigana fait du taf et Platini joue sur une jambe et ça se voit. Enfin, la non-décison de Corver sur la faute sur Battiston est en deuxième position dans la liste des pires erreurs d'arbitrage de l'histoire, selon la BBC : http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/4148525.stm Alors qu'on ne vienne pas me dire que c'est un des plus beau matchs de l'histoire.
I still remember clearly watching it live on TV with my brother. That World Cup was very special. And this game was kind of climax of the tournament. That game and the other one, Brazil against Italy were those two events which defined general path for the world football evolution since then. That was the end of jogo bonito.

Una partita eccezionale, fra le migliori che ho visto. Veramente incredibile dall'inizio alla fine. Schumacher in un modo o nell'altro risulta decisivo, fa un intervento gravissimo su Battiston, però nel resto della partita mostra una fermezza incredibile. Ho davvero amato come si è sviluppata la storia del match e i rigori sono pazzeschi e pieni di emozioni. Fantastica. An amazing match!
De verdad un clásico y un verdadero partido histórico en un Mundial de fútbol.El primer partido en un Mundial que va a la definición de penales. Gran ritmo, grandes jugadas, dramatismo, un partido muy intenso! Grandes jugadores. Increíble que está hoy todavía se hable de este partido memorable! Me encantó ver el gran mediocampo de Francia con Platini, Giresse, Tigana y Genghini. Al igual que Bossis & Amoros y el oportunismo de Rocheteau. Los alemanes con figuras como Briegel, Breitner, Magath, Fischer, Littbarski y en el tiempo complementario Rummenigge. Otra cosa que me impresionó mucho fue la concentración y la “fuerza mental” característica del fútbol alemán. Que manera de jugar al estar abajo 3-1 en el tiempo suplementario. Gran remontada! Schumacher de verdad merecía la expulsión tras el choque con Battiston, pero en la definición de penales, de verdad fue extraordinario y fenomenal! Viva el Fútbol! Viva Footballia!
El único borrón del partido. Schumacher. Un jugador muy sucio y con una actitud chulesca. Lamentable.
Realmente impresionante, recomendable para todo el mundo ver esta joya. Se suele decir de los grandes jugadores sobre todo antiguos que eran adelantados a su tiempo y podrían haber jugado en décadas posteriores, bien, pues desde luego que este partido es un adelantado a su tiempo no parece q sea hace 40 años sino unos 20. El ritmo de juego es fantástico, altísimo calidad en la combinación sinceramente me cautivo francia pero ojito con Alemania para mi el mejor breindtner, pero individualidades aparte es de destacar el ritmo, mayor que el de muchos partidos de la actualidad (actualidad no mucho xD llevamos mucho sin fútbol es lo peor de la cuarentena)

Barbaridad de encuentro, con prórroga absolutamente histórica. Enorme Alemania reponiéndose de dos goles en contra como si nada, aunque ayudó que Francia, muy desgastada físicamente, esperó demasiado atrás. Clase magistral de Stielike (que luego curiosamente falla su penal), Littbarski podía regatear hasta el fin de los días y Breitner, ya campeón 8 años antes, vuelve a mostrar su clase. Francia tenía mucha calidad pero le faltó malicia, con 3-1 no se te puede escapar la posibilidad de disputar una final por más que esté Alemania delante.
Amazing. Lot of implications. Harald Schumacher should have been red carded. Poor Battiston. However, the German style of never giving up is what makes this match one of the best of all times.
